Wow…what a year!

As 2017 UK City of Culture, Hull and the East Riding showed it could deliver spectacular events of all sizes. With the help of Principal Partners including The University of Hull – home of Beyond Events – the whole city and surrounding area embraced this incredible honour and the inspirational programme of cultural events that followed. A 20-year, £250m plan is now being implemented to ensure that the city continues to develop and grow as a world-class cultural destination.

As part of the legacy of City of Culture, the University will continue to strengthen and develop its contribution on a local, national and international stage. This will be achieved by ensuring the University remains a cultural leader both locally and nationally, continuing to develop an outstanding programme of events. The University places students at the heart of culture, giving them a platform to shine while providing opportunities to explore creative careers through its cultural partnerships.
