Our great outdoors

The award-winning grounds are one of our University’s best features. It is difficult to walk around the 52.7-hectare main campus without being impressed by the beautiful green spaces and colourful flowerbeds that our gardeners work so hard to maintain and in doing so, have won Yorkshire in Bloom awards on a number of occasions.

As well as providing a lovely environment for students and visitors, our grounds provide many options for outdoor events such as team building sessions, exhibitions and small festivals.

The main campus has hosted the Sports Relief Mile on several occasions as well as rugby and football events, utilising the natural and 3G pitches that form part of our sports facilities.
